Men Are Like Cabs

The older I get and the more I date the more I think Miranda (or the writer who wrote it) from Sex and The City is right

“Men are like cabs, when their available their light goes on. They awake one day and decide their ready to settle down, have babies, whatever, and they turn their light on. Next woman they pickup, boom, that' the one they'll marry. It's not fate, its dumb luck.” – Miranda

There are millions of websites out there that claim to know all the secrets to landing the perfect man and claim if you follow their easy steps you’ll find your soul mate in no time at all. Millions of websites telling women exactly what they want to heard instead of the truth.

The truth being: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE PERFECT GUY!

I am sorry Disney lied to you but the truth is it all boils down to timing and dumb luck!

I’ve dated a lot of guys who were nowhere near ready to settle down yet boom the next women they dated they married. Why? Because they went to bed one night and woke up the next morning with their light on.

It’s not that they were soul mates or because he wanted to change for her, or because she tamed him, it’s dumb luck. And in my case lucky luck because I know what I’ve dated and thank god that light wasn’t on (I must start making better choices).

So what do you guys think is there such a thing as soul mates or is it timing and dumb luck, (or in some cases an unplanned pregnancy) let me know what you think in the comment box below. And as always stay and play safe.

Love,

The Honest Bitch

  1. When I first glanced at the title I thought it said-men are like crabs. That's because my husband is a dick much of the time. At least to me.
I would like to believe in a soul mate but even though I have been married 3 time-divorce and widowed-I have not found a soul mate. I wish. I wish a man could love like a woman does.

    1. lol I think men are kind of like crabs too....always side stepping questions :-)

Soooo you're telling there is no hope :-P I'm with you; I wish I could believe in soul mates but until I see the proof with my own eyes, I think it's all dumb luck

  2. Neither C or I was looking when we met. Soul mates, nah, not really. I mean we could have moved on, met someone else. I just liked him enough that I started to want more. But I don't believe in love at first sight or soul mates. I think any relationship where a guy just decides he'll take the next person he dates is doomed for failure.

    1. I am with you Jamie. If someone decides the next one is the one, that relationship is doomed. You don't really decide who will be the one, you can decide you are ready to settle down and start dating left and right until you meet the right person, but you can't just decide the next one will be the right one no matter what. And many girls - cause they are desperate for a relationship - they will just settle with the first guy who agrees to be serious, whether he is the right one for her or not.

    2. Yeah, settling is never good. Why sell yourself short?

  3. I think it is mainly timing for guys - kind of agree with the light concept, but I don't think any rule really applies ... every single situation is different. But this is what I believe though: is it much harder for a girl, no matter how pretty and how smart she is to make a guy change his mind about wanting to be serious with her or not than it is for a guy to make a girl change her mind about wanting to be in a relationship. Yep I am a girl and I am saying that 'cause it is true. Girls are much easier to persuade. It is just the way it is.

    1. Honestly I think are girls are easier to "persuade" because they want to fix what is wrong with guys. So if a guy is really into her, she figures she can fix what is wrong with him. (Or dare I say it : tame him) It never works like that. Like the old saying goes "A woman marries a man hoping he'll change, and a man marries a woman hoping she won't."
(Doing a little chant of "I'm glad I'm gay" in my head right now)

    2. I'm with you guys women are much easier to persuade for the reason Jamie said women marry hoping he'll change and men marry hoping she wont. Sad but true fact. I'm kind of wishing I was gay right now lol

  4. I also want to add something I should have said in the blog: I don't believe men are aware this light comes on it's a subconscious thing. They don't go "Oh I am going to marry the next thing I see" it just happens and the light is why.

  5. That is the laziest thing I've ever heard. You're far too young to be so cynical about relationships. Men need to be coaxed into marriage like women (used to) have to be coaxed into bed. As for how to do it, I suggest learning how to present yourself in a more feminine way. Seeing as you live in the UK, you should have droves of men vying for you, as your competition is basically non-existent.
