Birchbox Unboxing - June 2018

I've not done an unboxing in a while and since I've not been writing much I thought I'd share June's Birchbox with you.

As I am sure you know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that costs £10 a month plus £2.95 P&P.

This month's box comes with 5 items and one bonus item.

The first thing I wanted to mention is not an actual item, but the box itself. This month it is a tin, rather than the normal useless cardboard box thing it comes in. It's fairly pretty and I'll definitely reuse it.

Poaar- Velvety Sun Fluid Face & Body

The first item is Polaar sunscreen. Not my favorite thing to get in a subscription box However, it is a useful item for thing time of year.
ARROW- BOOST Colour Enhancing Lip Balm in Berry Busy

This is not the first time this lip enhancing balm has shown up in a box and I didn't use it then and I won't be using it now. This product, as cool as it may sound, just isn't for me.

Number 4 - Jour d'automne Smoothing Balm

According to the information page, this is good for restoring softness and protecting against humidity and heat damage. I am not happy with this item. My hair gets cranky if I change up the routine. So, sadly I won't be using this product.

Lord & Berry  Strobing Highlighter Pencil

This was promising until I swatched it. It is blendable, but the line you draw never goes away, the glitter just moves around. It's just turns into a white line with clear glitter everywhere. Other than maybe using it on the cupid's bow, it's a fairly pointless product.

Ella Eden - Compact Eyeshadow in Faith

This was this month's choose you item product so, I like the colour. It's not a brand I've heard of before, so I didn't know what to expect. My first thoughts are the packaging feels cheap. For a single eyeshadow retailing for £12.99 I'd expect more. On swatch it feels average. Not very buttery or super bendable. Just ok.

Whittard Of Chelsea - Tea Bags

The bonus item this month is 3 tea bags (lemon & ginger, mango and bergamot and earl grey) from Whittard of Chelsea. I don't like tea so this one is a miss as well.

This month's box was not my favorite. The only thing I really like is the box it all came in. But that's happens with these boxes. I'm sure next months will be better,

Did you get this month's box? And if so what did you like best? Let me know in the comments below and as always, stay and play safe.

Cohorted Black Edition: February 2016

Let me start by saying I am sorry this is the 3rd unboxing you’re seeing in a row, it’s just how they’ve arrived this month and where they’ve fell in relation to my normal blogging schedule. On the bright-side there will be a shiny new post all about Mr. X up tomorrow, so those of you that don’t enjoy these unboxing have that to look forward to.

Back to the unboxing, I received my February Cohorted Black Edition box about 10 minutes ago, so I thought I’d hope on and show you what's inside. This is the most expensive box I receive and I’m currently on the fence about keeping it. I like to give a box 6 months before I cancel it, this is month 4 and it’s not looking good.

With that said, let’s see what’s inside….

Dove – True Tone Underarm Dark Mark Eraser: Two things right off the bat; one this isn’t the Pixi Crayon Combo the booklet says I should have and two; what kind of bullshit product is this? This product went from the box, to my hand, straight to the bin. Utterly useless.

Elemis- Pro Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks: Good Brand, nice product, I’m looking forward to giving them a try and seeing how they compare to my favorite Skyn Iceland eye mask.

bareMinerals – Night Treatment in Medium: Not sure on this one, my skin isn’t a big fan of bareMinerals products so I may not risk it and just pass it along.

Cargo – Long Wear Lips Gloss in Tokyo: I don’t tend to like Cargo Cosmetics, that's me a personal thing, that said; the lip gloss seems ok, not too sticky when I swatched it. The problem being, it’s in a bright red shade and I’m not Taylor Swift so I’ll be passing this item along as well.

Marc Jacobs- LOLA: It’s a perfume sample, the positive being it’s a spray sample. It’s smells ok, I’m more of a sweet smell kind of girl, but I’m not heartbroken with this one.

Chanel – Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparition: This is a greyish blue shade which isn’t my favorite, I’m more of a brown, neutrals girl myself. I may try this as a base, but it all honestly, it felt very oily on my hand. I kind of think this may cease like bitch, but I will give it a go.

Out of the 6 items in this box, I’m looking forward to using 1 of them. Like I said, this box is on the bubble, it really isn’t my favorite nor do I feel like it’s worth the money. That said, I’m going to go and put these things away and I shall see you guys tomorrow with a non-unboxing post. As always, my dears, stay and play safe.

GlossyBox Unboxing - February 2016

I thought I’d throw another bonus post at you lovely people, since work woke me up just after midnight and I can’t get back to sleep. This time it is my February Glossybox.

The theme of this month’s box is Beauty Soulmates and I have to say the box itself is adorable. Just in case you’re wondering Glossybox is £10 plus p&p a month and for that you receive 4 – 6 items, normally full sized. GlossyBox tends to have higher end items, but there’s a mix. It’s normally one of my favorite boxes to receive.

So let’s jump in shall we, in the box this month there is…..

Nicka K New York - 24H Waterproof Eyeliner in Dark Bown: I won’t say this is dark brown, it’s definitely buildable to dark-ish brown, but with one swipe it’s fairly light. It seems to be fairly creamy, and easy to smudge out, and once it had set on my hand it was a bugger to wipe off. I personally don’t wear brown liner, but I might give it a go as an eye shadow base.

MUA- Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Glass in Allure: It’s pretty don’t get me wrong, but for such a sheer product it is very sticky. I don’t mind a sticky gloss, it normally means the colour will stay longer, but this sticky and uncomfortable, and has a brush applicator on top of that… given how many products I have in my collection, I’m going to give this one a miss.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company – Floral Slated Tweezers: I’ve received these in a subscription box before, I just can’t remember which one. They’re cute, they work will and I lose tweezers like you wouldn’t believe so I’m happy.

Naobay – Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner: It says this is a luxury size, but you may as well call this full sized, it’s 200ml and the full sized item is 250ml…. What’s 50ml between friends. It smells… like nothing really there is a faint plant smell, it has Aloe as an ingredient so I’ll assume that’s the smell. I love my Macadamia Deep Repair Mask, but since I have this I will definitely give it ago.

Wilkinson Sword – Intuition Razor: I like my Venus razor so I doubt I’ll be trying this. Nice item, just not something that wowed me.

Overall, not a bad box, not my favorite, but I definitely feel like I got my money's worth and I’m looking forward to trying on the hair mask. Anyways, I am going to go back to bed. Hope you lovely people are still enjoying these unboxing and until next time, stay and play safe.

Birchbox Unboxing - February 2016

I should be fast asleep right now, but the mailman rudely woke me up and for whatever reason I can’t get back to sleep so I thought I’s make the most of it and do a quick Birchbox unboxing.

In this month’s box there are 5 items and one bonus item and at first glance I’m pretty pleased with what I see. Inside this month you get....

Spectrum Collections: Tapured Powder Brush - The brush is a cute color and super soft, feel like pretty good quality. I’ll definitely use it. All and all not a bad start.

LOC- One and Done Shadow Stick in Perfect Cents: I know this product was done in collaboration with Tati on Youtube, so I was a little sad not to see her cute branding on this in the UK. That said, this shadow stick is amazing. So soft and creaming, very blendable and super pigmented, I can’t wait to use it.

Ole Henriksen: Truth Serum Collagen Booster: Good brand, good sample size. My skin has been freaking out lately, so I won’t give a try straight away, but once it calms down, I look forward to throwing it in the mix.

Ayres – Body Butter in Patagonia: Not thrilled about this one.  It kind of smells like old lady or Jasmine and rosemary as the jar may say. I’ll be passing this one along, it just isn’t for me.

The Balm – Frat Boy: I’ve nearly bought this blush about a 100 times, but for whatever reason I’ve always changed my mind at the last minute and removed it from my cart so I’m very happy to see it this box.

L. Erickson – Grab & Go Ponytail Holder: is the bonus item, it’s a red hair tie… I have no feelings on this one. I’ll use it. So I guess that’s a win?

All and all anther great box from Birchbox. I hope you enjoyed this bonus post and I’m going to go and down a couple cans of Monster before work. But, before I go I have this question for you; what subscription boxes do you get and which do you enjoy most? Let me know in the comments below and as always stay and play safe.

Cohorted Black Edition: January 2016

This is going to be a bonus post. I received my Cohorted beauty box yesterday and I thought I’d unbox it for you. This box is pricey. It’s says it’s £35 a month… It’s not, it’s basically £70. You pay £35 your first month and receive nothing. The next month you get charged again and then you get your first box. Which would be fine if it’s worth it, but this is my 3rd box and I’m still unsure.

You do receive higher end items, some of which are awesome, others I’m petty sure are discontinued and nobody else wanted. With that said lets get into the unboxing.

This month there are 4 items in the box, which I think is the fewest I’ve received so far. I do know they were having issues this month due to flooding so I’m trying to be nice, but I’m not wowed and I sure as hell don’t see £35 worth of product, let alone £70.
Too Faced: Souls Mates Blushing Bronzer - Carrie & Big:  This would be an awesome item if it weren’t for the fact we received one of these just last month. Luckily last month I got Ross and Rachel and I have enjoyed using it so I’m not heartbroken to receive another one, but, it would have been nice to get something else.

Cargo: Lip Gloss Quad – Oceania: I HATE lip gloss palettes of any sort. It remains me of being a small kid playing with makeup. I won’t be using this item. It’s a complete throw any.

Lancome: Le Correcteur Pro – 300c bisque: The colour is way off for me to use this product as its intended. I might get some use out of it if I use it as an eye shadow base. But this item is another miss for me.

Too Faced: Lip Injection Color Bomb -  Never Nude Enough: The colour is nice. The product itself was created by the devil. It burns, it smells like plastic and it settles in every line in your lips. It’s the hat trick of shit.  I’ll also say this, I put it on 30 minutes ago and took it off 28 minutes ago, my lips still hurt and I can still smell it.

So clearly this box this month was a complete waste of £35. Hopefully next months will be better, but we’ll have to wait and see. Let me know if you like these unboxing in the comments down below and as always stay and play safe.

Birchbox Unboxing - January 2016

I was struggling with what to post today, then a knock on the door brought me my Birchbox, so I figured why not do a quick unboxing for you lovely people.

The first thing I noticed is the box is adorable. One the lid it says “Best Year Ever” with a lot of pictures of cute and inspirational things on it. Great looking box to start the year.
Inside the box there are 6 items, most of which are simple size. My immediate reaction is, I’m not impressed. I normally love my BirchBox it’s one of the boxes I really look forward to getting but this month…. The highlight is the box itself.

Inside the box you get:

Benefit – They’re Real Tinted Primer; I will give this a try, but as a whole I think lash primers are a complete waste of money.

Jelly Pong Pong – Lighten Up Brightener + Waterliner; I have never met a Jelly Pong Pong product I’ve liked so; I think I’m just going to pass this along. At the end of the day, it’s nude eyeliner…. Nothing to write home about.

Crabtree & Evelyn – Le Source Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy; It’s winter, it’s a hand cream, I’ll use it. It seems to sink in quickly and didn’t leave my hands sticky like some hand creams do. Not in love with the smell, but it’s not overly offensive.

Parlor – Moisturizing & Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner; I HATE shampoo samples, also as much as I hate foil package samples and this managed tick both boxes and because of that it will be going straight in the bin.

Absolution- L’Eau Soir et Matin; It appears to be a cleansing water. I’m not wowed, but it is something I will use.

Birchbox – Compact Mirror; It’s cute. I like the “#NoFilter” on the front, the mirror itself is decent. It’s probably the best item in the box.

Like I said at the start this isn’t the best box I’ve received from them, but next month is Valentine’s day and I can’t wait to see the box they do for that. What subscription boxes do you guys get? Let me know in the comments below... I'm always looking to feed my addiction :-)  and as always stay and play safe.

MEMEBOX - Daily Must-Wears

If you don’t follow me on Twitter (@TheHonestBitch) you may not be aware, but I have a tiny subscription box addiction and my absolute favourites is MEMEBOX*. So when my latest one showed up in the mail this morning, I thought I’d share it with you.

This box came with 5 products, all of which were full size, which is pretty standard for MEMEBOX*. As always, on the top, was the magic information card that lets you know what the products are and most importantly, how to them since a lot of the products have little to no English on them.

The first item in this box is the LAILLY 7 Seconds Makeup Booster which retails for $41. From what I can tell it’s a makeup a primer, made from strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and acai berry extracts.not sure how it’ll do keeping my makeup in place but it sounds yummy.

Next up is the TOUCH COUTURE Perfect Dual kit which retails for $35. This is one strange idea, which is something I say a lot while opening my MEMEBOXES. On one side, it’s a lip gloss tint on the other side it’s an eyebrow gel. I don’t know about you, but I have ever thought to myself “hey you know what this lip gloss needs….. eyebrow gel” but whatever

The 3rd item is not 1, not 2 but 5 of the ESTHETIC HOUSE – Collagen Jelly pack Mask Sheets. Which retail for $17. These are 20 minute sheet masks designed to help energize and hydrate.

The 4th item in this box is the LA BELLONA Camellia Oleifera Oil Clinic which retails for $11. From what I can tell this can either be used as a conditioner or a hair mask, either way it’s meant to repair dry or damaged hair making it healthy, shiny and soft.

The 5th and final item could have been any one of 3 items, the one I received was the MOKSHA –Bidan Cream which retails for $46. I’ve read the card about 20 times on this item and I’m going with it’s a moisturizer. It doesn’t actually say that anywhere but it seems like a solid guess. It says bidan is Korean for silk and it minimizes blemishes and fine lines and you should message it into your face.

So that is what was inside my MEMEBOX – Daily Must- Wears box*. If you’re interested in giving MEMEBOX ago click any of the links in this post or head over to MEMEBOX.COM.  I hope you guys have enjoy this, I know it’s a little different than what I normally do. Let me know your thoughts in the comment box below and as always stay and play safe.
